Botanical Printmaking with Local Plants
GranadaVisit location →Gather leaves from the garden, prepare them, and press a whole booklet of prints with natural ink inside a colonial Granada studio.
Why this exists.
Everything you print grew this week.
This workshop occupies a two-courtyard colonial house in central Granada. The first two courtyards are full of plants — herbs, shrubs, ornamental trees — and every one of them is workshop material. You start by choosing leaves: by shape, by texture, by how they'll hold ink. You mix ink from natural pigments and learn to control the pressure of the hand press. In four hours you'll produce around twenty prints and bind them into a hand-sewn booklet. Most of the workshop is focused silence. Guests often say it was the first time in weeks they didn't look at their phone.
