Bread at Dawn
GranadaVisit location →Join a neighborhood baker in Granada before he opens up. Mix, shape, and bake alongside him.
Why this exists.
Starts at 5am. Ends with breakfast.
Don Enrique's oven is four blocks from Granada's central square. The bakery is small — two rooms, a wood-fired oven that fires up at 4:30 every morning. Enrique learned the trade from his uncle in León. During this experience you arrive before dawn, learn to mix, to shape the different breads he sells — semita, picos, cheese rosquillas — and to work the long oven peel. At 7 he opens the shop. You stay for the first breakfast of the day: coffee, warm bread, butter, and fresh cheese.
