Roll Your Own Cigar in Estelí
EstelíVisit location →Visit a family tobacco factory in Estelí and learn to roll a cigar by hand, from binder to wrapper.
Why this exists.
You roll two. You take both home.
Estelí, in northern Nicaragua, is today one of the world's premium cigar capitals. A Cuban family who fled to Nicaragua in the 1960s brought the industry with them. The factory you'll visit is family-run, mid-sized, and produces cigars exported to twelve countries. A master torcedor with twenty-five years of experience will teach you to prepare the filler, apply the binder, and place the wrapper — the most delicate step. You'll roll two cigars. It ends with a tasting paired with rum while the master and the manager answer questions.
