Aged Rum Tasting
Chichigalpa
A guided tasting of Nicaraguan rums aged in barrel, from the 4-year up to private reserves.
Why this exists.
Six rums. Two hours. No rush.
The tasting happens in a private room with six seats, warm lighting, and a long wooden table. Mario, your guide, spent five years as a taster at Flor de Caña before opening his own space. Over two hours he presents six rums — from a light 4-year to a 25-year reserve — and explains how the humid climate of Nicaragua's Pacific coast accelerates barrel aging. You'll learn to identify vanilla, tobacco, chocolate, and leather notes, and to read color in the glass. Served with dark chocolate and aged cheeses.
