Thermal Mud Baths
San Jacinto
An afternoon of volcanic mud baths in natural pools on the flank of San Cristóbal.
Why this exists.
The mud dries in the sun and cleans the skin.
On the flank of San Cristóbal volcano, near the community of San Jacinto, there are natural pools of hot volcanic mud that families in the area have used for generations. The bath complex is simple, family-run, and seasonal. The experience is simple: warm mud applied all over the body, twenty minutes in the sun to dry, rinse in hot spring pools, then herbal tea and rest on the terrace. Not luxurious. Ancient, honest, and very effective on skin and body.
